Imagine Nation LIFE Featured Family : ULYIAPCOs

He was the first child in his family; so was she. He had his first child before he got married; and so had she. Their family was a family of 'firsts' all put together. But when Christ finally takes the first place in the Ulyiapco family, Nic and Kat discovers that their lives are not random but, firstly, planned for by God.

Nic, a businessman, became a single dad to Soleil when he was young. At around the same time, Kat, was raising up her son Nico as a single mom. Nic and Kat became friends and started dating. When the time came for them to take the next step and get married, the two talked about it long enough. After all, they were about to bring together two (sort-of ready-made) families. But through Christ, Nic and Kat braved through the challenges of adjustment. "Our family is strong as it is today not because of our own efforts; Believe me, it is all Christ," Nic asserts, "And leading by example, we hope to teach our children to put God first and above all things."

Together, the Ulyiapco family proves that it is only when Jesus is first that a home is built. Now with their first child together, Nic and Kat's family of 'firsts' is proof of God's promise in Jeremiah 29:11--"No matter the situation," Nic and Kat share, "God has a plan to turn things around for His glory."
