7 Extravagant WeddingsThere’s nothing more entertaining and expensive than a celebrity getting hitched. Since they earn more, they spend more too. You can expect drop-dead gorgeous dresses, the most scrumptious food, the most expensive wedding photography services and of course famous faces. Nuptials aren’t an exception for their high-end lifestyle. In fact, it’s one of the highlights. The paparazzi, the media, and probably the rest of the world are interested on how much they actually spend in a once-in-a-life-time event. Extravagance does not spare marriage failures though. Some of the most lavish weddings out there often end up in divorce anyway; a proof that money doesn’t always guarantee happiness but it does buy you the fanciest and most romantic wedding.
7. Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes
Estimated Cost: $2 million Cruise was madly in love with her. He did crazy stints for her and proposed to her at the top of the Eiffel Tower. How romantic can that be? Their wedding was held at a 15th-century Italian castle and the generous amount of 300 bottles of wine amounting to $180, 000.

Estimated Cost: $3 million It was love against all odds. Paul McCartney spent a hefty price on this wedding from the $145, 000 flowers to the rental of Castle Leslie in Monaghan, Ireland where it happened and the fantastic firework display accumulating to $150,000 in value.

Estimated Cost: $3.8 million The wedding was set at Michael Jackson’s Neverland ranch in California. Taylor wore a Valentino gown with a tag of $30,000. It was fun while it lasted as their marriage only held up for five years. 4. Liza Minnelli and David Gest
Estimated Cost: $4.3 million Following the 5-year marriage path of Elizabeth Taylor is good friend, Liza Minnelli. The couple was celebrated their marriage by setting up a 60 piece orchestra with Tony Bennet, Natalie Cole and Stevie Wonder for the youtube mp3 entertainment. Michael Jackson was the best man while Elizabeth Taylor played the Maid of honor. Flowers rated $700,000 while their delicious cake cost about $40, 000.

Estimated Cost: $4.8 million Former president Bill’s daughter, Chelsea has her dream wedding at Rhineback, New York. Spending tons of money on a $11,000 Vera Wang dress, $203, 000 on security and $24, 000 on video footage –anything to make the memory last, right?
2. Prince William and Kate Middleton
Estimated Cost: $33 million Though the Brits have toned it down a little ever since Prince Charles and Lady Diana’s wedding (costing $115 million), this hearty union between long-time sweethearts Prince William and Kate Middleton gave the crowd a craze. The solemn ceremony took place at the Westminster Abbey in London with flowers pricing up to $800,000 and a $80,000-woth cake.
1. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al Maktoum and Sheikha Hind Bint Maktoum
Estimated Cost: $137 million You may not know who this fellow is, but he is the UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler in Dubai. His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al Maktoum is rather a famous personality in the Middle East. With his now wife, Sheikha Hind Bint Maktoum, they celebrated their marriage in Dubai back in 1979. A hall was built from scratch just for the wedding to accommodate about 20, 000 of their guests. What is amazing about this nuptial aside it being a royal one and still going strong, is that a five-day holiday was declared and the Sheik himself visited every village and fed everyone while riding his horse.
